Pegasus is a constellation in the northern sky named by the 2nd century Greek astronomer Ptolemy. Pegasus is the symbol for the immortality of the soul. He is also the carrier and protector that guards the spirit in its journeys into the astral plane. The myth of Pegasus tells a story of a Greek hero Bellerophon riding the white winged horse on his return to Mount Olympus from defeating the monster Chimera. Bellerophon falls off the white stallion and Zeus transforms Pegasus into the constellation in the heavens.
